It’s the quintessential St.Augustine experience you don’t want to miss. My favorite discovery on a recent girls’ trip to St. Augustine was Catch 27. Located in the heart of downtown just minutes from Castillo San Marcos, Catch 27 focuses on fresh-catch seafood and local ingredients with a southern and Creole flair. You can eat inside in the small dining room or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the heated patio. Over the past 20 years, the Old City House Inn and Restaurant has meticulously built its reputation.

Where to Eat Near Downtown St. Augustine

It is next to the museum and a short walk to the shopping and restaurants in the small downtown tourist area. They save a free parking space for their guests, and have the cutest bar and restaurant. The food was excellent and the included breakfast was the best I have ever had. Loved the cozy bar for 6 for a drink and dinner, great place to meet new people. I think they had dispensers on the shower wall instead of small wasteful bottles so thats a plus. Located on Cordova, south of the Casa Monica, the Old City House Inn offers more than just a good place to eat.

Indeed, the past 20 years have been rewarding for the Old City House Inn and Restaurant. It’s a cornerstone of St. Augustine’s history, a testament to the area’s cultural richness, and a beacon of fine dining. Two decades ago, the Old City House Inn and Restaurant wasn’t the top-rated destination it is today.

For a truly unique dining experience or a special occasion, make a lunch reservation at Cafe Alcazar, located in the Lightner Museum, with side entrances for non-museum diners. This elegant eatery is situated in what was originally an indoor swimming pool when the museum was the Alcazar Hotel, one of Henry Flagler’s many properties in town during the Gilded Age. River & Fort focuses on fresh seafood, including local shrimp and fish, along with imported cold water crustaceans, making it a perfect pick for seafood lovers or a great spot to grab a cocktail at sunset. You will also find southern favorites like fried green tomatoes and fried pickle hushpuppies.

Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. All come with private entrances, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi; some have mini-fridges and jetted tubs. Included in the room rate are a homemade breakfast and an evening glass of wine at the bar. The on-site restaurant serves lunch and dinner six days a week in an intimate atmosphere.
